Crete is famous for its high mountains, deep gorges, the archaeological areas and the traditional villages. Here you will feel directly the warm hospitality and friendly yet relaxed lifestyle. You'll fall in love with the clear blue waters and golden sandy beaches.
The beach is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and summer sports. During the day our guests can enjoy a wide range of options, including restaurants, cafes and small bars.
Sfakaki is special specifically for its sandy beach and the marvelous sea but for another reason too: the proximity to the highway, making it easy to travel almost anywhere in Crete. Sfakaki has in recent years evolved into a very popular residential area as it combines all the features that make an ideal place for both vacations and permanent accommodation. It is only 10 minutes drive away from the city of Rethymno and 45 minutes from the International Airport of Heraklion.
9 km east of Rethymno, in the heart of the municipality of Arkadi and Sfakaki village, turn right on the road to Pagalochori. The church that is located to the right is devoted to the Virgin Mary Euagelistria. She gives us Her blessings as we continue south and uphill. The combination of wild herbs, oregano, oleander, yew and the tall eucalyptus trees, create an atmosphere full of intoxicating aromas.
As we continue to the left we meet Arsani Monastery. Moving south we realize that we are located to the largest olive grove of the Eastern Europe, since our visual field, as we ascend, offers a panoramic view from Lefka Ori of Chania up to Psiloritis. On our left, on the opposite hill, we notice the beautifully renovated Venetian houses of the settlement Hamalevri.
We have at your disposal sunbeds, umbrellas, outdoor showers, towels, refreshing drinks and delicious snacks to enjoy ideally the fascinating Cretan sun and the amazing sea.
When you decide to visit Crete the first thing to do is to read its history. And even if you won't, you will certainly have heard of the myths that loom in this diverse place.
The feature that you surely acquire when you get in touch with the place, is that of the discoverer. You want to discover everything and make everything one with your breath, embody the place and the myths and keep everything as a talisman. Sometimes it is easy, some other times you identify yourself, want it or not, as Hercules. Which path will you choose? Virtue or Malice? It is a fact that you will always choose the path leading to your heart and the heart is never wrong. You have seen a lot, and all have moved you the same way. But the path to discovery, has to be chosen by your heart.
As did all, from ancient times, who drew their way to get along in life with dignity. A road linking lives that toiled, lives fought for freedom, lives inspired and prospered in a landscape of unparalleled beauty.
